Apple Diversity Update

Apple is trying too hard to make itself a more diverse company. Tim Cook, Apple CEO discloses the diversity figures in an open letter, and said that they are changing hiring practices. Apple has hired 11,000 women globally in the past year, i.e 65% more than in the previous year. In US 2700 Hispanic employees were hired - a 66% increase, and more than 2200 black employees - a 50% rise over the last year.

Male employees are still ruling with huge majority (approx 69%) in 2015, that shows a slightest movement from the past year. The US employees are standing at top with 54% white workforce. White employees are also ruling at Leadership level; 63% are white out of 72% leaders.

The same old cliché still applies: Apple has a long way to go. But at least Cook isn’t shying away from acknowledging that fact. “Some people will read this page and see our progress,” he writes in his letter. “Others will recognize how much farther we have to go. We see both.”

7 Ways How You Can Stop Battery Drainage in iOS 8

Those who have update to latest iOS 8 software on your Apple device, iPad and iPhone, might have noticed a low battery life. Regardless of the phone model you own, here are some best ways that help you to stop battery drainage, and add extra hours to its daily longevity.

7 Ways to Preserve Your Battery Life on iOS 8

Identify Battery Sucker Apps

Visit Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage. Find the app which is consuming battery, close it. If that's a spare or unwanted app uninstall it immediately.

Background App Refresh

By default, this feature is 'ON.' Visit Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Turn-off the feature for apps which continually refreshes app content. However, this feature is certainly great, but it also consumes battery power a lot when your phone runs on a a cellular network or a wi-fi network.

Disabling Notification Widgets

iOS 8 has new feature 'notification widgets' that pop-up transit information, sports scores, weather updates and many more. These widgets pull the data frequently, thus sucking battery life. Turn off widgets notification which are useful for you.

Parallax - Good Feature Gone Bad

Parallax might be too cool for your screen display, but the fact is - it's one of the biggest offenders of battery life for iOS 8. Visit Settings > General > Accessibility, and turn-off this feature.

Stop Location Tracking Apps

Keep it on when it is really necessary. Visit Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and stop apps which tracks your location. Recommended: Keep this feature on, "Find My iPhone" - in case you lost you phone, it will help you to track easily.

Reduce Screen Brightness

Screen brightness eats away precious hours of battery life. Don't make it brighter than necessary. Visit Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness and disable Auto-Brightness and decrease the setting manually.

Stop Fetch Function

All of us understand the need of auto-fetching notification, but the functions also eat the battery more than we think. It would be better to check your mails manually. Visit Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data, and turn it off.

Terraria Guide

Terraria is an action-adventure sandbox indie video game series, developed by game studio Re-Logic and released on Microsoft Windows, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Windows Phone, Android, iOS, and Kindle Fire HD. The game features exploration, crafting, construction, and combat with a variety of creatures in a randomly generated 2D world. In this game there is something for everyone.

Terraria is the type of game that tests the patience and creative abilities of casual and hardcore gamers. The majority of this genre-packed game focuses on building up your own items, growing an active community and fending off the hideous baddies that make their presence known in the evening.

Everything this game throws at players can be daunting at times, plus the release of an iOS versions means there’s new players who might be struggling with the game. Here are some tips that will help you live and prosper in the 2D Sprite world of Terraria.

Acquire Some Wood As Soon As You Enter the World of Terraria

As soon as your character lands on solid ground, your first order of business should be cutting down some trees with your axe and nabbing some wood. Tray and chop away at the exact base of the tree so you don’t end up producing any stumps, too. The wood you get from chopping down some trees will go towards you building up your home base/shelter. But first, you should use ten pieces of wood to create a workbench. That workbench will let you create much sturdier items. This workbench will end up becoming a huge part of your home base.

How You Should Go About Crafting Your Own Home knows just what it takes to build up your very own house

Now, you need to build a home. Use your pickaxe to level out some ground, and get building. A home needs a background wall (so craft lots of wood wall blocks), two walls (wood or dirt will do), and a ceiling. Now you’ll be safe from monsters while stood inside. Dig out the bottom three tiles on one wall and place a door. Now you have easy access in and out. You should probably build your first home close to your original spawn point. Why? Because until you start building beds, you’ll always return to the same spawn spot when you die. Watch out, though: your guide will wander about near the spawn point, carelessly opening doors and letting monsters inside your new house.
